One of the lessons learned from Moral Monday week 1 is that this is all about the children. The laws that are being challenged are to protect the children and the environment they will inherit from us. This little kid in the picture told me that his “Mi Maw” went to jail for him. He then fist bumped his grandmother and thanked her because, “bad guys took away his four year old school.” I watched him watch the people as they taped their mouths. Moral Monday decided to be silent. Next week they are sure to shout. Both are freedom of speech. Our children are watching and learning. I hope I am, too.
